Title:  Manager, Manufacturing Controlling

We are now looking for an Manager, Manufacturing Controlling for our Finance team This position primarily supports the costing of product and the proper application of material and overhead costs. The position is responsible for providing financial guidance and product costing expertise to the relevant managers/ functions as well as supporting F&A activities. This position will interface with Operations Management, Segment Management. Product Management, Supply Chain Management, and all Finance areas.

 

What you can expect from us:

 

Core tasks include:

 

  • Product costing
  • Support inventory control at plants, warehouses and terminals, including annual physical counts
  • Prepare management reporting including cost center reporting, Plant P&Ls, variable cost reporting, budgeting, absorption variances, Slow Moving Inventory Reserve and others

 

Responsibilities include

 

•Manage product costing (Bill of Materials & Activity Rates) for inventory valuation and control

•Manage Proflow for North America for costing function. Proflow is Kemira’s internal new product management tool of which costing is usually the final step of the process.

•Update freight rates as necessary for intercompany and intracompany plant to plant value chain

•Support Cost forecasting tool (Value chain analysis )

•Manage month end processes  for  :

  • Validation and release of cost estimates for North American Plants (Monthly Revaluation & New Products)
  • Analyze Actual versus Budget expenses Analyze monthly department expense (including accruals)
  • Month end accruals and cost center analysis
  • Reconcile inventory related balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze Manufacturing variances (price, quantity and absorptions)
  • Prepare quarterly slow moving and obsolete inventory reserve
  • Manage monthly analysis for inventory valuation and control
  • Prepare certain material cost reports
  • Prepare cost center reports

•Generate plant and outside warehouse inventory reports

•Manage  physical inventory and cycle counts

•Support plant managers and staff with understanding manufacturing expenses

•Assist and annual product cost budgets

•Support Operations, Supply Chain, & Procurement for budgeting and forecasting

•Establish annual activity rates based on manufacturing budget and expected volumes

•Provide analysis for budget and forecasting process (Make vs. Buy, Plant Closure,etc)

•Provide annual and quarterly audit support (Internal and external)

•Support Plant Maintenance when and if necessary (work orders, capex, etc)

•Analyze and approve Capex projects

•Provide freight/logistics analysis where applicable

•Census reports

•Some tax related work

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
  • 5 years of cost accounting and plant controlling experience preferred
  • Experience in a complex chemical manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Strong ERP, Material ledger and Business Warehouse knowledge, preference toward SAP experience
  • Computer literacy:  MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organization and interpersonal skills
