Title:  Sr. Manager, Planning & Controlling, Americas

We are now looking for a highly motivated and self-driven person to join our Planning & Controlling team in Kemira’s CFO Organization. The main task is to operate as a business controller for the $300+ million Americas Industry & Water (I&W) commercial unit, which is part of the Industry & Water segment. This is a Business Controller or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role in which you would partner closely with the business and help the team execute the business plans by providing accurate fact-based information for strategic and operational decision making. In addition, you would contribute to the global P&C team initiatives, helping to develop processes and tools for financial planning, management reporting, and analytics. The position is located at the Kemira Americas regional headquarters in Atlanta, GA.  


The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Be a pro-active partner for the Americas I&W management team, providing sound financial analysis to drive fact-based decision making
  • Provide decision support and recommendations to the other Americas I&W teams such as Commercial/Sales, Manufacturing, and Product Management
  • Manage and execute the monthly Americas I&W management reporting, follow-up on issues, and prepare ad hoc analysis
  • Control and monitor the financial performance of the Americas I&W business
  • Manage the financial planning processes for Americas I&W, including the monthly rolling forecast, the annual budget, and the long-term plan as part of the strategy process
  • Ensure that Americas I&W management information is correct
  • Support and manage the processes related to the Americas I&W sales incentive plan
  • Support capital investments, M&A, business partnerships, and development projects as needed
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of common financial planning, reporting, and controlling processes; reporting structures; and related systems and tools
  • Use standardized processes, meet tight deadlines, provide accurate information, facilitate the use of available tools, and train stakeholders
  • Travel as needed, 10 – 20% of time

What you need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
  • Additional education or certification, such as an MBA or CPA, is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience, preferably in business controlling or in financial planning and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen, initiative, and accountability
  • Mindset to strive for continuous improvement of processes and tools
  • Proven track record of influencing stakeholders to drive business performance
  • Ability to influence and build relationships in a global, cross-functional organization
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze big data sets, and then summarize the relevant information into conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to think strategically and be hands-on in implementation and execution
  • Advanced knowledge of systems and tools (e.g. SAP, Business Warehouse, Excel)
  • Experience in financial planning and data analytics related tools
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
