Title: Sr. Manager, Renewable Water Treatment, NV&S
“In August 2024 Kemira announced changes to its operating model to better meet profitable growth ambitions. This open position will be part of the planned new organization which will be effective as of Jan 1, 2025.”
We are now looking for Sr. Manager, Renewable Water Treatment for our New Ventures & Services (NV&S) business unit.
The purpose of this role is to grow Kemira business in the renewable water treatment space globally. This position can be located in either North America or Europe.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Global Commercial & Market Strategy:
- Develop and execute the global commercial and market strategy, with other NV&S functions, to drive business growth and achieve long-range plan (LRP) goals
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure alignment with global strategy
- Act as a thought leader to guide cross-functional teams in executing commercial strategies
Commercial Activation Plans:
- Develop and implement commercial activation plans to support regional sales and marketing efforts
- Ensure that activation plans are tailored to meet specific regional needs and align with the overall global strategy
- Monitor the effectiveness of activation plans, making adjustments as needed to maximize impact
Innovation and Product Development:
- Lead overall innovation portfolio planning and management and ensure alignment with global strategy
- Oversee the commercialization process for new product development (NPD) projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure NPD projects are advancing toward commercialization goals
- Spearhead identification and evaluation of new innovation projects to accelerate growth
Strategic Investments and Risk Management:
- Lead business case development for strategic investments for organic and inorganic growth and articulate recommendations to senior leadership
- Create optionality and contingencies to meet overall LRP objectives
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure successful market entry and commercialization
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Master’s degree or above, major in chemistry or other relevant technical field with MBA preferred
- At least 10-15 years working experience in the chemicals and/or water treatment industry, with a focus on business/product management and sustainability
- Strong existing network in global or regional water treatment space
- Deep technical understanding of water treatment chemistry, combined with understanding of the market and regulatory trends, industry value chains, competitive environment, customer value creation, product development and value-selling
- Strong strategic thinking skills with entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong influencing and organizational skills
- Cross-functional collaboration and project management skills
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial concepts
- Ability to demonstrate Kemira Leadership principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in verbal and written English communications
- High level of ethics and compliance
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the time
