Title:  Technical Service Representative

We are now looking for an experienced Field Service Technician for our Pulp & Paper Segment.  This role supports the Kemira Sales Team to provide value added products and services to the pulp and paper making customers at the customer’s place of business.  The position will be assigned to defined customers within a territory and the services provided will depend on the customer’s needs.  This role maintains existing business as well as develops new business at these assigned customers. The role is located in Pine Hill, Alabama.


Your responsibilities include: Assisting the sales team by providing routine services associated with our chemical applications at customer sites, which can include, managing chemical inventory, maintaining and repairing equipment, providing laboratory testing, run product evaluations (trials), equipment trouble shooting and participate in mill site meetings where possible.

What you need: 

  • Bachelor's degree) level and/or equivalent field experience in paper science, chemistry, biology, microbiology, or chemical engineering.  2 years’ minimum experience in the paper industry preferred:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft applications Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as pumps, valves, flow meters, mixers, etc.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Kemira’s chemical delivery systems and control software
  • Basic understanding of the paper making process, and associated chemical reactions, from the pulp mill to the reel and waste treatment
  • Strong Relationship building skills
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills
