Title:  Maintenance Manager

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for the management and leadership of the maintenance department,  and will provide engineering expertise in the replacement, improvement and modernization of plant equipment. This role is also the primary point of contact and direction for contractors. Assists in the hiring process and administers company policies. This position is for our Augusta, GA facility.

 

1) General Description of the Job

 

  • Candidate will be responsible for plant maintenance including supervision of maintenance technicians, minimizing equipment downtime, controlling maintenance costs and coordinating plant maintenance. 

 

2) Spheres of Responsibilities and Functions

 

  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental compliance requirements. Act as a leader to other plant personnel in these areas.
  • Follow all Quality System procedures
  • Monitor and control plant maintenance daily. Issue instructions as necessary to maintenance and operations.
  • Write Job Safety Analysis as needed and prepare Safe Work Permits.
  • Find, propose, justify and implement changes to lower plant costs, improve efficiency and improve on-stream factor.
  • Communicate daily with plant maintenance and operations about current isues in the plant. Assist maintenanance and operations with plant problems.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager for major plant problems, shutdowns and repairs.
  • Control Maintenance costs to Budget. Monitor and report on plant maintenance costs.
  • Develop procedures to document and improve plant maintenance and equipment on-stream factor.
  • Train plant personnel on maintenance procedures for new and existing systems.
    • Maintain and improve plant preventative maintenance program.
    • Supervise and manage maintenance technician performance. 
    • Provide maintenance leadership and improve morale.
  • Maintain Maintenance staffing as needed and justified.
    • Provide training and succession planning for plant maintennce personnel.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews and administer to plant maintenance personnel.

3) Special spheres of responsibilities

  • Manage contractors as needed

4) Border of Authority

  • Reports to Plant Manager. Batchelor's degree in engineering. Work experience of at least 5 years (or closely related manufacturing).
  •  Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Good computer skills.
  • Ability to train and supervise personnel. Ability to write and review procedures. 
  • Ability to understand plant control logic. 
  • Project management and cost control.

What you need:

  • Engineering degree, either Chemical or Mechanical
  • Minimum 5 years experience in chemical manufacturing preferred
