Title:  Senior Process Engineer

Provide process engineering support including process design, improvement, and troubleshooting.  Champion process safety and management of change for the site.  Assist HSE Specialist with environmental regulatory reporting and compliance as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with plant management to optimize plant processes with a goal of maximizing throughput
  • Collaborate with plant management on capital projects to ensure proper process design and equipment specification
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and equipment reliability
  • Serve as site leader for all aspects of process safety
  • Manage all aspects of the Process Hazard Management Program (PHMP) requirements.  Responsibilities include:
    • Management of change (MOC) process
    • Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment
    • Steward process safety and MOC
    • Audit process safety-related policies and systems
    • Maintain Product Safety Information (PSI) files
    • Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSUSR)
    • Collaborate with Corporate Engineering to ensure site meets prescribed PHMP standards and expectations
  • Ensure compliance with site environmental regulatory requirements.  Compile data and help HSE Specialist prepare the following reports:

                             - SARA 312 Tier II

                             - SARA 313 (TRI)

                             - Air permit

  • Assist with creation of SOPs and COPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed
  • Provide engineering support and design for process safety action items
  • Maintain P&IDs  and equipment and instrument records
  • Participate in near miss/incident root cause analysis

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related field
