We are looking for a Lead Production Operator for the Industry & Water segment. This position performs work safely in accordance with established procedures; troubleshoots problems; and ensures the proper operation of all equipment. The production lead is responsible for ensuring that the operations run smoothly and that each shift communicates the status in a manner that creates a smooth flow for operations. The Lead is the next in line supervisor and therefore is depended upon to, through example and support, maintain communications with operators on load schedules and production schedules to insure our customers’ expectations on product and delivery are exceeded. The Lead is integral to supporting training for new team members through their experience and is instrumental on developing future leads and building bench strength for the future.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Prioritize safety, ensuring adherence to company safety and environmental standards, and promptly address any issues by involving management.
- Lead and champion the Behavior-Based Observation process, driving 100% participation and using data analysis to focus on areas for improvement.
- Oversee and execute all planned processes, including safety, housekeeping, and production, to meet quality and quantity standards during shifts.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all processes and equipment, reporting any issues and coordinating with maintenance as needed.
- Troubleshoot production issues, revise schedules to optimize efficiency, and minimize customer and quality impact.
- Accurately input data into SAP, produce and distribute shipping documents, and manage and distribute plant status and no-show reports.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Strong safety-first mindset with a focus on accident prevention and emergency response.
- Solid understanding of basic chemical reactions and processing equipment used in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and lead in a fast-paced, high-stress production environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience using MS Word, Excel, and SAP.
- Continual improvement in knowledge of plant processes, environmental guidelines, and relevant employment laws.
