We are now looking for an experienced Process Engineer, to join our I&W Manufacturing Coagulants team. This position will be located at our Baltimore, MD plant.  Working closely with Plant Manager; Production Supervisor and Lead Maintenance Mechanic, this role supports the optimization of plant processes with the goal of maximizing throughput and enhancing product quality. The role provides process engineering support including process design, project management, improvement and troubleshooting. This role also champions process safety and assists with environmental regulatory reporting and compliance.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support and advance the site safety culture
  • Optimize plant processes with a goal of maximizing throughput, minimizing cost, and enhancing product quality
  • Participate in capital project planning to ensure proper process design and equipment specification
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Production
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems
  • Serve as site leader for all aspects of process safety
  • Participate in all aspects of the site Process Safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulatory requirements.  Responsibilities include:

                   *Management of change (MOC) process

                   *Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment

                   *Audit process safety-related policies and systems

                   *Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)

                   *Conduct operator PSM and RMP training as required

                   *Lead investigation and resolution of process incidents

  • Assist with creation of SOPs and COPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed
  • Develop training program for operator levels.

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Preferably 3-5 years’ process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-managing
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
