Title:  Process Safety and Engineering Manager

Kemira now has an opportunity for a Process Safety & Engineering Manager for our Botlek manufacturing site reporting into the Plant Manager. The primary focus of this senior role is to provide leadership to the Engineering team (4-6 direct reports), ensuring safe and efficient operations of the manufacturing activities at the site. 


In this role you will have the overall responsibility for Process Safety management, Management of Change, optimizing production processes, process control, automation systems maintenance, conducting feasibility studies and input to expansion projects. 


Critical success factors are: change management, driving continuous operational improvements, create and implement initiatives to meet current and future safety, regulatory, environmental, quality and productivity targets. The Botlek site is a BRZO (high incident risk) site and you will participate in the call out schedule for the off-site Emergency Plan.

What you need: 


  • Minimal Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant technical subject area
  • Hands on Process safety management experience
  • Strong process engineering experience (minimal 10 years), gained in the Chemical or Process Industries
  • Proven leadership with the ability to develop people
  • Good Dutch & English communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence others
