We are looking for an innovative and result-oriented Principal / Senior Research Scientist for Textile applications at our Espoo R&D Center. As a leading scientist, you will focus on developing and commercializing products for various textile processes, in alignment with Kemira’s growth strategy.

What we expect:
-
Academic degree (M.Sc./PhD) in chemistry or chemical engineering, in the area of fiber and polymer technology, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or similar
-
5+ years work experience and proven record in research and new product development in textile area

Strong hands-on experience in practical studies related to textile application areas
-
Deep knowledge about cellulosic textile fiber raw materials, chemistries, manufacturing processes and products, for example MMCF, non-wovens and textile recycling

Understanding the regulatory frame work and value chain in the areas mentioned above are considered as a benefit

Innovative and research oriented attitude and passion to solve problems and courage to drive constant improvement by challenging existing status and identifying new ways of working.

Good collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders and commercial partners

Excellent communication and reporting skills in English

Excellent safety attitude and willingness to continuously improve safety culture in our day-to-day operations
