We are looking for an innovative and result-oriented Principal / Senior Research Scientist for Textile applications at our Espoo R&D Center. As a leading scientist, you will focus on developing and commercializing products for various textile processes, in alignment with Kemira’s growth strategy.

What we expect:

  • Academic degree (M.Sc./PhD) in chemistry or chemical engineering, in the area of fiber and polymer technology, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or similar

  • 5+ years work experience and proven record in research and new product development in textile area

  • Strong hands-on experience in practical studies related to textile application areas

  • Deep knowledge about cellulosic textile fiber raw materials, chemistries, manufacturing processes and products, for example MMCF, non-wovens and textile recycling

  • Understanding the regulatory frame work and value chain in the areas mentioned above are considered as a benefit

  • Innovative and research oriented attitude and passion to solve problems and courage to drive constant improvement by challenging existing status and identifying new ways of working.

  • Good collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders and commercial partners

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English

  • Excellent safety attitude and willingness to continuously improve safety culture in our day-to-day operations
