We are now looking for a Principal or Senior Research Scientist to join the Sizing and Performance Team in our Espoo R&D Center. You will work in research projects supporting the product development of sustainable surface treatment chemistries for paper and board, and for novel innovative fiber based products. You will be participating in planning and executing of research and development projects in these product lines together with the rest of the team and in close cooperation with other Kemira R&D teams.

What you need

Academic degree (M.Sc./PhD) in biomaterials or board and packaging technology or chemical engineering with at least 8 years of experience in research and development of packaging products and/or applications in paper and board packaging
Understanding of dispersion barriers, converting, food packaging and/or molded fibers with proven practical experience (e.g. laboratory work/pilot trials) is a benefit for success in this role
You are used to perform experimental work and guide technical personnel, and have excellent safety attitude and willingness to continuously improve safety culture in our day-to-day operations
You have innovative and research oriented attitude and passion to solve problems and courage to drive constant improvement by challenging existing status and identifying new ways of working.
Excellent communication and reporting skills in English
