The Human Resources supports Kemira’s strategy and business objectives by developing the organization and people processes, driving leadership and talent development, and by providing efficient HR services to the business. 


We are seeking a HR Generalist for our HR team in South America.

Main Accountabilities:


The role will provide insights into, solutions for, and administration of one or more of the following functions:

benefits, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, learning and development,

and typical human resources programs and services.


  • Supports assigned employee groups and managers in areas including recruiting, labor and employee
  • relations and regulatory compliance ensuring compliance with Company policy and applicable laws
  • Assist in the development and administration of human resource policies and practices for assigned countries
  • Assist in investigating complaints and grievances, in researching legislation and case law, and in other employee
  • relations’ activities
  • Coordinate the collective bargaining process for assigned unionized operations and administer union and
  • litigation avoidance strategy in non-union locations
  • Assist with implementation of Regional and Global initiatives, including annual performance management discussions and
  • employees’ surveys.
  • Supports the Regional Talent Development Manager on training and employee development initiatives
  • Supports the Regional Compensation Manager on compensation initiatives
  • Administer company benefits for responsible countries
  • Conduct employee orientation
  • Experience in labor law for Uruguay/ Argentina and Chile
  • Available for trips among sites Uruguay (Fry Bentos)/ Argentina and Chile


Experience and Education:


  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent education/experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resources generalist experience preferred
  • Fluent Spanish, advanced English, Portuguese as a plus.
  • Some level of exposure to recruitment, employee relations.
  • Knowledge of government and local employment and benefit laws and regulations (Uruguay/ Argentina and Chile).


Competencies and Skills:


Possess highly effective oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to independently analyze and interpret employee situations and solutions effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships within all levels of the organization.

Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, SAPHR (MyKem).
