We are now looking for an EHSQ Specialist to support the operations at our Fray Bentos plant in Uruguay.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards and regulations. You will also be instrumental in promoting safe practices and maintaining our certified EHSQ management system.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading the implementation and supervision of EHSQ policies and standards at the Fray Bentos plant.
  • Acting as the technical lead for Occupational Health and Safety (SYSO), ensuring compliance with Decree 127-14.
  • Managing radiation protection responsibilities in line with Law No. 19056 and serving as the Radiation Protection Officer.
  • Representing the company in SYSO-related matters before government bodies such as MTSS and MSP.
  • Supporting the plant in maintaining and developing the certified EHSQ management system.
  • Monitoring emissions, conducting sampling, and maintaining records in accordance with the PGAO approved by Dinacea.
  • Leading incident investigations and ensuring timely reporting and certification of final product analysis.
  • Managing EHSQ-related purchasing activities, including developing new suppliers and overseeing SAP operations.
  • Leading the Responsible Care Program, including report preparation and participation in audits.
  • Providing EHSQ inductions and training to contractors and visitors and overseeing contractor audits.
     

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • A university degree in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably as a Safety Technician or Engineer.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with SAP and other relevant software.
