Title:  Manager, Sourcing, Application Business and R&D

We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager, Application Business and R&D to join our Global Indirect Services Sourcing team. Kemira Sourcing drives the company’s strategic spend management through the identification of suppliers, negotiation and contract management as well as the management of supplier relationships in order to ensure optimum service performance. 


Main accountabilities:

  • Lead sourcing activities globally for Application Business which we also call Customer Equipment. This means equipment that is purchased and/ or manufactured by Kemira or its sub-contractors, but used at our Customers as part of the overall Chemicals management process. Application Business plays a key role in Kemira corporate strategy.
  • Creation and implementation of a sourcing strategy and execution road map globally for Application Business, and continue to develop global R&D category.
  • Manage projects efficiently by gaining stakeholder trust and respect by delivering results in the means of contracts, savings and common vision. Manage supplier relationship in order to ensure they deliver sustainable service, performance and value.
  • Manage overall RFx process including RFx creation and analysis, negotiation, contracting, and supplier scoring and selection.
  • Look for continuous improvement in quality, demand management and cost efficiency.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing. Technical knowhow is considered as a benefit.
  • Demonstrated capability and perseverance in working in a multi-function team environment, including effective influence management, advanced negotiation skills and effective dispute resolution skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams through a defined sourcing process.
  • In depth understanding of manufacturing environment in general, e.g. equipment contracting and supplier management practices.
  • Ability to challenge the “status quo” and confidence a business case.
  • Pro-active and hands-on attitude, do’er.
  • Managing stakeholders and ensuring active, executive sponsorship.
  • Managing changing requirements or the conflict between requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of MS Office tools
  • Fluent written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel globally & experience from virtual working. Flexibility in working hours in order to serve various different time zones.


The position will be located in Helsinki, Finland. You will report to Senior Manager, Global Indirect Services Sourcing.
