We are now looking for a Trade Operations Specialist to join our EMEA Logistics Sourcing and Operations team. This is a temporary position for minimum 1,5 years to cover maternity leave. The role will contribute to Kemira’s growth and profitability strategy by ensuring border crossing trade operational compliance and through efficient import / export processes impacting to Kemira’s cost efficiency and on-time deliveries.


Location of the role is either in Kemira HQ in Helsinki, Finland or in Kemira Business Service Center in Gdansk, Poland. The selected person reports to Brokerage Sourcing and Trade Operations Manager. In this role, you will have the flexibility to organize your work between office and remote, in a hybrid work culture.


The key tasks for the role include

  • Managing import and export process together with internal stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance on operational level
  • Optimizing duties and managing the preferential trade operations such as verifications and certifications.
  • Managing the Customs Brokers in EMEA operationally together with the Customs Brokerage Sourcing Manager, ensuring their compliance and performance to Kemira standard KPIs.
  • Providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders on the relevant international trade topics such as import / export processes and documentation.
  • Participating to development projects and identifying & initiating change in own responsibility area.
  • Working in close collaboration with GTC (Global Trade Compliance) participating new regulatory implementations.

  • An interesting expert position to ensure Kemira’s operational compliance on import and export processes across the EMEA region and different material flows and thus positively impacting to Kemira’s delivery capability and reliability
  • A key role in supporting internal stakeholders and partners such as Customer Service, Procurement, Sales and Sourcing in their international trade related questions and inquiries
  • A wide international external network for co-operation; working together with Kemira’s selected brokers, supporting Kemira’s customer base by providing them with long-term supplier declarations, contacting Kemira’s suppliers to obtain documentation from them
  • Possibility to drive change and development in EMEA Logistics through enhancements and improvements in the trade operations area
  • Strong supporting organization in the form of Global Trade Compliance, EMEA SCM (supply chain management) and being part of the EMEA Logistics Sourcing and Operations community


What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience in operational import and export processes or international trade compliance with an understanding of business processes
  • B.Sc. or equivalent in Economics, Engineering, Logistics or in other suitable faculty
  • Strong team working skills and preferably having experience in working with complex matrix teams in international arena
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment embracing changes every day
  • Attention on details while understanding the big picture and impact of decisions
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Capability to operate with discipline and with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English on all organizational levels
  • Experience in working with SAP is an advantage
