We have an exciting opportunity for a resourceful and experienced Sr Sales Representative in our Industry and Water segment, reporting into the Sr. Sales Manager, Africa. The position will be based in South Africa, Johannesburg.


The responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting sales and market activities for Kemira Industrial and Municipal water in the territory and supporting the implementation of regional sales and market entry strategy.
  • Achieving targeted sales revenue in the territory according to the sales plan set on yearly basis with the Sales Manager.
  • Tracking monthly and year-to-date sales trends and provide regular sales/technical monthly reports.
  • Gathering and communicating market information for local markets in the African territory and provide input for NPD.
  • Managing customer and channel partner relationships and participating in channel partner evaluation.
  • Responsibility for the direct sales process, aiming at meeting and/or exceeding sales and profitability margin targets.
  • Expanding profits, market position/share, introduce new products/solutions to clients and arrange visits to current and potential clients.
  • Preparing and submitting short and mid-range sales plans to reach nominated Long Range Plans. Support the development of demand forecast in own area.

What you need:

  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, or related science/water treatment qualification, ideally with business management.
  • Proven sales experience in Business to Business sales, ideally with Polymer and Coagulant water treatment account management experience with corporate/international  customers
  • Able to generate new ideas and have excellent customer management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with good verbal and written skills in English
  • Demonstrable sales negotiation skills
  • Driving License, with ability to undertake travel in the region of sub-Saharan Africa (up to 50% of time)
