We are now looking for an experienced Sr. Process Engineer for our Mobile, AL location.  Our Mobile, AL location is currently in construction for a $70+ million expansion.  The Senior Process Engineer will be brought on to lead engineering and technical development for future process operations.  This position is responsible for leading and supporting process engineering activities including troubleshooting, improvement and modification of existing processes and design and implementation of new processes in accordance with applicable corporate, federal, state, and industry regulations and standards.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Support and advance the site safety culture including coaching and training of the operations group 
  • Oversee the duties of the Process Engineer in managing all aspects of the site Process Safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulatory requirements; responsibilities include:
    • Management of change (MOC) process
    • Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment support function
    • Audit process safety-related policies and systems
    • Maintain Product Safety Information (PSI) files
    • Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSUSR)
    • Conduct operator PSM and RMP training as required
    • Lead investigation and resolution of process incidents
    • Assist with creation of SOPs and COPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed
    • Support initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations for existing and new processes
  • Optimize plant processes with a goal of maximizing throughput, minimizing cost, and enhancing product quality
  • Train personnel on new processes
  • Participate in capital project planning and management to ensure proper process design and equipment specification
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Production
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems
  • Support new product introduction and technology transfer
  • Assist in design and optimization of control system projects

What you need:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related field
  • Good working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management Standards and associated requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-motivated and self-managing
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
  • Control system PLC or DCS programming experience
