We are now looking for a chemical operator in our Industry and Water segment for our Mojave, CA location. This position is responsible for the safe operation, production and handling of plant materials and equiptment 


This position will control and monitor operation of process equiptment in an Iron Chloride manufacturing plant to assure safe operations and product quality.  


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Perform all work safely in accordance with established procedures and regulations and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and others
  • Troubleshoot problems aggressively as they occur in the plant
  • Perform lab analysis tasks and collect production samples
  • Maintain communication and up to date records
  • Direct, monitor, assist and/or perform operator level maintenance as needed/assigned
  • Ensure proper operation of all equipment in the plant
  • Monitor tank levels and process instrumentation; perform adjustments as required
  • Operate pumps, valves, filter presses, controls and other operating devices as required to ensure all plant systems are operating properly
  • Load finished goods into truck tankers or railcars as needed, with attention to quality of product being loaded, load limit, DOT requirements, and special instructions on individual orders
  • Ensure operations have zero environmental non-compliance
  • Operate fork truck, Bobcat, Loader and overhead magnet crane
  • Perform housekeeping throughout the plant as assigned to include painting, pulling of weeds, trash removal and general upkeep of plant
  • Perform various laborer activities as instructed by lead operator and plant management
  • Connect/disconnect raw materials railcars
  • Available to work overtime as required, including stay-overs and call-ins
  • Available to work all shifts including nights and weekends
  • Fill in for other operators on short notice
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need:   

  • High school graduate or equivalent  

  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in an industrial operations position preferred 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and math skills 

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds 

  • Strong work ethic
