Title:  Project Engineer

We are now looking for an experienced Project Engineer, to join our I&W Manufacturing Coagulant team.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support and advance the site safety culture
  • Optimize plant processes with a goal of maximizing throughput, minimizing cost, and enhancing product quality
  • Participate in capital project planning to ensure proper process design and equipment specification
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Production
  • Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems
  • Support new product introduction and technology transfer
  • Serve as site leader for all aspects of process safety
  • Manage all aspects of the site Process Safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulatory requirements.  Responsibilities include:
    • Management of change (MOC) process
    • Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment
    • Audit process safety-related policies and systems
    • Maintain Product Safety Information (PSI) files
    • Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSUSR)
    • Conduct operator PSM and RMP training as required
    • Lead investigation and resolution of process incidents
  • Ensure compliance with site environmental regulatory requirements.  Compile data and submit reports for the following:
    • SARA 312
    • SARA 313 (TRI)
    • Air permit
    • RMP submission
  • Prepare and submit Kemira annual environmental report
  • Assist with creation of SOPs and COPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-managing
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
