Title:  Process Operator - Afternoon Shift

PROCESS OPERATOR - DELTA BC - Afternoon Shift

We are looking for a Process Operator for our Delta Manufacturing facility in our Pulp & Paper business segment.  This position is responsible for manufacturing intermediates and finished products in a safe and efficient manner under the supervision of management

 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow all the plant rules and safety standards, rules, policies and procedures
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the OH&S Act and the regulations
  • Look out for his/her own safety and the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Wear all appropriate protective equipment required to perform work safely 
  • Report defective equipment or safety devices or contravention of safety rules to manager
  • Participate in the safety programs, safety discussions and safety meetings
  • Manufacture intermediates and finished products in conformance to plant quality standards using only approved raw materials and following instructions on batch sheets and manufacturing procedure sheets. This includes adding raw materials from totes, drums, storage tanks via pump and manually dumping bags
  • Perform quality control analysis on finished batches
  • Enter production data in SAP
  • Operate production equipment through DCS
  • Package and ship finished goods in conformance to plant quality standards and applying the correct labels.
  • Operate process vessels, reactors and auxiliary equipment.
  • Make minor equipment repairs
  • Responsible for housekeeping
  • Perform shipping and receiving as directed by management during peak plant demand
  • Receive and ship bulk materials in tankers
  • Serve as vacation relief to other plant positions

What you need:  

 

  • Minimum grade 12
  • WHMIS & Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Must have 4th class power engineering certificate
  • Must be able to operate steam boiler and pressure vessels
  • Willing to obtain Class 1 driver’s license
  • Must be able to work alone or in a small team.
  • Must have a good attitude towards safety.
  • Must have the ability and flexibility to learn new procedures.
  • Must be willing to stand continually during work shift
  • Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs. on regular basis
  • Familiarity with entering production data into SAP or similar computer software
  • Must be willing to adjust to shift work as required
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed

 

This position will be on the afternoon shift (current schedule: 1pm-12am 4 days a week) will rotate between day and afternoon shift during training period
