Title:  Manager, Business Creation, Textiles and Non-Wovens, Americas

We are now seeking a candidate for the role of Business Creation, Textiles and Non-Wovens, Americas

for our New Ventures & Services business unit in the Americas region. 

 

The purpose of this role is to lead the business creation activities for Textiles and Non-Wovens markets and applications on regional level.

 

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and compile new sales prospects and with support of Applications, prioritize and qualify all relevant leads for the next phase of sales process.  Transition qualified prospects to Sales team and support ongoing sales stages.
  • Analyse and evaluate new business opportunities. Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical plans for new and existing products, services, business models, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with regional Application and Sales teams to plan, lead, organize and execute Business Creation activities including customer proof-of-concept trials, product launches, and technical sales, ensuring that all internal development activities are completed against agreed time, scope, budget, and quality targets.
  • Accountable of generation of business plans, creation of new business models, value proposals, pricing proposals and guidelines in the region.
  • Lead meetings and negotiations with potential customers and business partners to pursue business opportunities and protect the organization's business interests.
  • Support Global Business & Portfolio management in strategy and business plan creation by providing regional application and customer specific input.
  • Drive new product development from region side starting from ideation and project objectives and ending with final business plan, commercialization and hand-over. Project team member for New Product Development projects and act as the regional lead of the projects, supported by Applications, Sales, Global Business & Portfolio management, New Technology Platforms and R&I.
  • Responsible for the financial result of the commercialization activities in the region.
  • Responsible to provide regional content and expertise to create external marketing communication plans supported by regional Marketing. Responsible of customer communication materials (power point presentations etc) and customer interface interaction together with Sales and Application.

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Master’s degree or above, majoring in Chemistry, Textile or Paper Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry or other relevant technical field
  • Minimum 5 years (up to 10 years) of relevant industrial experience involving sales and application development.
  • Proven track record of creating new business growth, commercialization and launching of new products / technologies and resilience required for driving long-term commercial projects. 
  • Technical understanding of Papermaking and/or Textile Processes combined with understanding of the market and regulatory trends, industry value chains, competitive environment, customer value creation, product development and value-selling.
  • Established networks with Americas papermaking (including Non-Wovens) industry stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking, sharp commercial mindset and techno-optimistic attitude combined with ability to execute business plans at regional level. 
  • Comfortable and excels with new and unfamiliar prospect customers and in new markets and environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, emotional intelligence and an ability to work across organizational boundaries combined with persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to impact, influence and convince others.
