We are now looking for Team Leader, Sales, New Ventures, Americas for our New Ventures & Services business unit in the Americas region.
The purpose of this role is to lead the sales activities for the New Ventures business areas, markets and applications on regional level and manage personally a portion of the prospect opportunities directly. This position can be located in either the United States or Canada.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Two part Role: Leading sales team and selling directly a portion of the Prospect opportunities.
- Lead sales team to achieve designated sales objectives. Work closely with Business Creation Managers to transition qualifed sales leads from BCM responsibility to Sales Team responsibility.
- In accordance with the NVS growth targets, develop and implement sales plans, activities, and campaigns. Lead the commercialization activities for New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, Battery chemicals, in the Americas region.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets and targets, working closely with BCMs who will be providing valuable market input. Monitor sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas and adapt procedures or re-allocate resources.
- Negotiate sales with existing and potential customers and actively liaise with customers. Contribute to the development of sales, customer retention, pricing, and distribution strategies through provision of market intelligence and customer information.
- Define customer needs for chemical and digital products by managing laboratory and technical end-use trials and tests at customer sites. Trials, tests and tasks may include work with hazardous chemicals and installation or maintenance work.
- Support Global Business & Portfolio management in strategy and business plan execution by providing regional application and customer specific input.
- Responsible for the financial result of the New Ventures activities in the region.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Master’s degree or above preferred, majoring in Chemistry, Paper Chemistry, Packaging Technology, Water treatment technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry or other relevant technical field
- Minimum 5 years (up to 10 years) of relevant industrial experience involving papermaking, paper packaging, renewable energy and water treatment
- Proven track record of leading sales in new business growth areas, resilience required for driving long-term commercial projects.
- Seasoned professional knowledge in sales and leading sales teams.
- Comfortable with developing relationships, targets and competencies in unfamiliar customer base or new markets. Lead others with similar mindset and abilities.
- Business knowledge in one or multiple New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, Battery chemicals. Combined with understanding of or the ability to compile and understand the respective market and regulatory trends, industry value chains, competitive environment, customer value creation and value-selling.
- Established networks with customers and other stakeholders in current job scope, preferably in one or multiple New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, Battery chemicals
- Strong tactical leadership abilities and sharp commercial mindset combined with ability to execute business plans at regional level
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, emotional intelligence and an ability to work across organizational boundaries combined with persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to impact, influence and convince others.
