Position Overview:

 

The individual will be directly accountable for all production related activities in a 24 hour/day 5 day/week chemical manufacturing plant. This position transforms operational goals into daily execution and supervision of production related activities. Additional responsibilities will include project & process engineering, reporting, documentation, and development of direct reports. This position will have oversight of certain production personnel and will have potential for growth.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

 

§  Safety & Compliance

o   Assist in technical calculations related to compliance reporting

o   Promote a safety oriented culture

§  Monitor and improve continuous and batch chemical processes

o   Continuously update Standard Operating Procedures

o   Report any process and equipment problems, including night & weekend monitoring

o   Create reporting of key production metrics for the site management team

o   Develop a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment

o   Create a training bible for all plant processes

o   Work with external contractor to update all process P&ID’s

o   Troubleshoot problems

o   Work to reduce costs through improving quality and productivity

o   Responsible to execute PSSR’s, MOC’s, and PHA’s on an as needed basis

§  Utilize fully integrated IT business system (SAP) in all processes

o   Issue Maintenance Work Requests & Work Orders

§  Supervise Production Personnel.

o   Train, evaluate, and review performance of production personnel

o   Develop or mold practices to improve productivity

o   Supervise loading and unloading of trucks and rail

§  Other duties as assigned

What you need: 

·        4 year bachelor’s degree, preferrably in Chemical Engineering

·        Minimum 3 years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of plant technical process flows and operations, including progressive track record. (Process Engineer, Production Engineer, etc)

·        Information technology skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ERP SAP

·        Superior Interpersonal Skills
