We are looking for a Safety & Compliance Specialist for our logistics team.
We are looking for someone who will ensure that transportation operations meet all safety regulations and legal requirements. They would develop, monitor, and enforce policies to reduce risk, prevent accidents, and maintain regulatory compliance. The role also involves audits, training employees, and investigating incidents to promote a safe and compliant supply chain.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Safety Manager with maintaining and ensuring compliance with transportation operating authority, licenses, permits and credentials with government agencies
- Assisting the Safety Manager with regulatory compliance programs such as DOT drug and alcohol and FMCSA CSA program
- Maintain compliance for regulatory files and programs, such as driver qualification and fitness documentation
- Assisting with transportation insurance requirements, regulatory submissions and reporting and claim management.
- System administrator of Synergi for logistics group
- System administrator for logistics DMS and IMS systems and protocols
- Assist Safety Manager with compliance review of logistics operations
- Support compliance programs for fleet equipment CT standards
- Conducting training on key topics or initiatives
- Supporting logistics operations team in incident investigations and RCA, Review incident cases
- Supporting Terminal Managers and Safety Manager with compliance to standard operating procedures, programs and standards for logistics operations
- Maintaining training programs and protocols compliant with regulation and company standards for logistics operations
- Monitoring regulatory and legislative changes and support Safety manager in maintaining compliance for logistics
- Participating in periodic group safety meeting for both management and operative personnel
- Give assistance to Safety Manager regarding any new safety & compliance initiatives
- Any other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trucking or chemical industry
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Department of Transportation Regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of other regulatory requirements, OSHA, EPA, DEP
- Thorough knowledge of hazardous materials regulations
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Competent computer skills
- Strong Organizational skills

The starting salary range for consideration for this position is $77,250 to $95,000 per year with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The actual starting salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant employment history & experience, skill set/competencies, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid time off, life/disability insurance and a 401k retirement plan (which includes a company match).
