Title:  Manager, Plant NA, Bartow

We are looking for a Plant Manager for our Industry & Water Coagulant, Bartow, FL Manufacturing Site. The ideal candidate will oversee safe and environmentally conscious operations on a daily basis to ensure only the highest-quality products are produced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.  They will utilize lean manufacturing tools and processes to create a culture of total employee engagement and the elimination of all waste, manage the inventory of raw materials and finished products, and direct the planning and layout of equipment, workflow, and workforce utilization.

 

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

 

Safety Leadership:

  • Demonstrated commitment to a strong safety culture with a proven ability to lead by example and enforce stringent safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response procedures.

Technical Expertise in Hazardous Chemicals:

  • Extensive experience managing operations in a hazardous chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements specific to hazardous materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to chemical production, storage, and safety.

Leadership and People Management:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate diverse teams.
  • Experience in managing plant operations, leading teams, and developing a high-performance culture.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.

Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve plant performance and safety.

Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations governing hazardous chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience in leading audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

 

  • Four year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ chemical plant management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation
  • Significant Lean and 6 Sigma experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
  • Experience with business management systems, preferably SAP
  • Proven leadership skills in a fast paced, high stress environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with capital/project management
  • Experience with operations accounting and budgeting
  • Experience dealing with Hazardous Materials
