We are now looking for a Sr Specialist, Accounting, Netherlands & Belgium to join our Finance & Accounting unit.  

 

Finance function serves internal business users, external investors, and stakeholders by providing accurate and timely financial data in line with applicable laws and regulations. Finance & Accounting provides accurate, timely financial reporting and ensures compliance with global accounting standards and regulations. The function supports decision-making, transparency, and financial control across the organization, enabling reliable operations and strong governance worldwide. 

 

This role is initially offered on a one-year fixed term contract. The position is located in Botlek (NL).

In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • General Ledger accounting and journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation 
  • Monthly IFRS reporting 
  • Local statutory reporting including Financial Statements preparation and statistical reporting 
  • Tax accounting and compliance (including VAT) 
  • Coordinating and/or managing external and internal (tax) audits 
  • Payroll accounting and DBO accounting 
  • Fixed asset accounting 
  • Act as local Finance representative 
  • Participation in projects and other duties on an ad hoc basis 
  • The above is for one Dutch and 1 Belgian entity. 

 

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor Degree in economics or alternatively a relevant education in accounting or tax accounting and at least 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally in an international manufacturing company 
  • Knowledge of IFRS, Dutch and Belgian tax legislation 
  • Very good Excel skills and preferably experience with SAP and HFM 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and managing deadlines effectively 
  • Detail oriented, ability to complete tasks accurately under strict deadlines 
  • Cooperative and pro-active attitude 
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Dutch language skills 
  • Knowledge of the Chemicals industry is considered a plus

  • The starting base salary range for this role is between EUR 87.840 - EUR 102.480 annually (monthly it's EUR 6.292,26 - EUR 7.340,97, excluding holiday allowance and 13th month payment). Salary ranges may vary depending on location and local market conditions. The actual starting salary will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skills and competencies, qualifications, and wider business and organizational needs.
