We are now looking for a proactive and customer-oriented Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support for the sales, installation and maintenance of customer production equipment and systems. Working as part of the UK Pulp & Paper commercial team you will carry out routine service calls to maintain and service equipment and also technical support for troubleshooting and reactive maintenance needs, so flexibility for call-outs to support customer emergencies is required at times. 

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

•    Conducting service visits on a preventative and reactive basis as required, undertaking service and repair of products and systems to deliver against customers’ requirements.
•    Coordinating and communicating with customer on all repair activities to maximize uptime/reliability.
•    Supporting the territory in business development and maintenance of existing accounts.
•    Supporting the technical requirements of business and management.
•    Liaising with third party vendors in relation to additional support, spares purchasing and equipment storage.
•    Keeping accurate records and management reports and provide training to customers and colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer and best practices.

What you’ll bring to the team: 

•    Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent with a solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and control systems. 18th Edition certified is an advantage. 
•    Experience working in a customer facing field service engineer or technical support role, ideally in a chemical manufacturing environment. 
•    A positive and responsible attitude towards independent work
•    Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•    A logical and analytical approach to trouble-shooting
•    Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, with flexibility for occasional emergency cover at customer sites outside normal working hours, including weekends.
•    Strong organisational and time management abilities
•    Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
