We are now looking for a Technical Manager to join our Bradford UK site. In this role, you will form part of the site Management Team with responsibility for the Quality Control Team, Process Chemistry Team and other technical department employees. You will oversee process safety activities, contribute to continued legal and regulatory compliance and lead the site energy efficiency and technology improvement programs in close collaboration with the site Operations Team and a wider network of Kemira colleagues.

 

 In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Coordinating maintenance of site process safety assessments with input from site specialists and selected third party partners.
  • Overseeing the continued development of the high level control system strategy for the site, including cyber security aspects.
  • Providing leadership for site energy management activities.
  • Facilitating internal and external reporting of environmental and energy performance indicators.
  • Playing a lead role in the facilitation of site audits and inspections, both internal and external.
  • Coordinating the site customer complaint process.
  • Coordinating the site Management of Change process.
  • Coordinating the maintenance and development of relevant technical documentation, including the COMAH safety report, with input from discipline specialists and selected third party partners.
  • Assisting in development of links to the local community.
  • Contributing to training and development of all employees.
  • Facilitating collaboration on DPAM technical matters to ensure the transfer of manufacturing best practices throughout the Kemira Operations group.
  • Ensuring technical standards are adequately maintained to allow safe and reliable operation within national, corporate and local site standards.
  • Ensuring plants are designed, operated and engineered in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining departmental KPI’s and execute improvement plans.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in all aspects of process safety, technical development and manufacturing in the Bradford site.
  • Ensuring department staffing is in line with short and long term needs
  • Leading, guiding and developing employees.
  • Forming part of the site emergency “on call” rota.

 

What you’ll bring to the team:   

  • A minimum of a degree/equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related subject areas.
  • NEBOSH or a nationally recognised safety certificate.
  • Leadership experience within the chemical industry.
  • Experience of operating within an Upper Tier COMAH chemical manufacturing site.
  • Experience of Process Safety Management.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of industrial control systems.
