We are now looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Industry and Water segment. This position will be responsible for repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of all equipment issues within the plant.  This role also assists production as required and performs housekeeping duties.  This is a unionized environment within a 7-24 capable plant.   

 

The Maintenance Technician role is a Monday to Friday day shift position at our plant location in Brantford, Ontario. Occasional after-hours or weekend calls may be requested.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Certified millwright
  • Safety-conscious individual for self and others with knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  • Minimum 2 years combined industrial maintenance, ideally in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with pump maintenance and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Must be able to use Windows-based computer programs such as Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of electrical, welding, and restricted/confined space entry preferred.
  • Ability to repetitively & safely lift a minimum of 25 kg (55 lbs).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintenance & repair of plant equipment in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot potential or existing problems and determine the proper corrective action
  • Participate in equipment change outs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities, including pump inspections for leaks, unusual noises, centrifuge inspections for proper operation, leaks, hose wear etc,. 
  • Maintain preventative maintenance and quality system records as directed
  • Communicate with plant personnel on equipment repair and availability verbally and through logs, worksheets and written notices such as email.
