We have an opening for a Shipper/Reciever in a temporary postion for our manufacutring facility in Brantford, Ontario. This position will be responsible for shipping and receiving bulk and packaged materials used in water treatment chemical manufacturing. It is a unionized environment within a 7-24 capable plant, Monday to Friday; 7:00AM – 3:00 PM shift; with occasional overtime.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Minimum 1 year + in a shipping/receiving role.
- Bulk loading background an asset.
- Lift truck operating experience.
- TDG and chemical experience an asset.
- Safety-conscious individual for self and others with knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
- Computer literate (SAP/ERP and Microsoft Software).
- Familiar with mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems, pumps and PLC's.
- Mobile crane operating an asset.
- Good problem solving, communication (oral and written), and organization skills.
- Able to work alone and as a team player.
- Able to climb stairs, enter reactors, carry hoses, wear respirator, etc.
- Able to repetitively & safely lift a minimum of 25 kg (55 lbs).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Follow all established procedures, safety rules and regulations
- Load liquid bulk chemical tankers
- Fill and load drums and totes
- Operate lift truck for loading trucks and various plant tasks
- Receive raw materials (bulk and packaged) and other plant items
- Use SAP/ERP software for required shipping paperwork
- Complete routine inspections and minor repairs as required
- Reactor entry for production and maintenance purposes
- Assist maintenance and production as required
- Housekeeping duties as required
