We are currently offering immediate employment for an outstanding Process/Chemical Engineering graduate or recent graduate to fill the role of Process Engineer at our polymer manufacturing plant in Columbus, GA.  This site offers a strong safety culture, high employee engagement and morale, and a family-type atmosphere.  The plant leadership team is highly experienced and welcomes the opportunity to help a new engineer realize early success and accelerate their career growth.  Kemira’s business continues to grow and the Columbus plant is an important part of the strategy, as evidenced by the $30+ million in capital investments at the site within the past 7 years, with additional investments planned for the future.

 

As a key member of the leadership team reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Process Safety Engineer will have the following opportunities:

 

  • Sustain the strong safety culture
  • Organize and conduct needed trainings for site, covering different topics
  • Support and Coordinate conducting PHAs, PSSR, MOCs, etc.
  • Assist with JSAs and other job safety reviews
  • Conduct, participate and support process design reviews for new projects and improvements to existing equipment
  • Advance the plant technology by implementing batch recipe automation using the new DCS
  • Identify process improvements and conduct trials to maximize efficiency, improve quality, and reduce operating costs
  • Learn the important aspects of process safety and provide leadership in this area
