We are looking for an experienced chemist for our Industry and Water Segment, East Chicago, IN facility.  This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine laboratory tests, reviewing and entering data into appropriate data retention areas.  The Chemist/ Jr. Chemist will be required to constructively engage in and be responsible for various programs and projects undertaken by the lab.

 

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

 

  • Work safely individually and collectively and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies
  • Conduct laboratory tests
  • Perform routine and non-routine tasks, analyses, and assignments as assigned
  • Conduct special projects as assigned
  • Coordinate and facilitate, programs undertaken by the laboratory as assigned
  • Perform any duties related to laboratory goals and programs
  • Maintain acceptable quality performance
  • Compile, record and analyze data and prepare suitable reports 

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred
  • 2 years vocational school/technical training strongly preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and Math and reading comprehension skills
  • Completion of 10 modules (minimum) of mechanical skills training required
  • Good computer skills
