We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance and Asset Manager for our Supply Chain Management,  Industry & Water segment.    

 

Our Fleet Maintenance and Asset Manager's primary function is to monitor and maintain our fleet assets. They will develop or contribute to, an effective fleet asset management plan to acquire, maintain, upgrade, and replenish our truck and trailer fleet assets efficiently and cost-effectively.  In addition, they will evaluate all fleet maintenance capital expenditures to ensure that capex is aligned with business objectives and appropriate return on the investment standards.  Our fleet asset manager will also work with our maintenance vendors to ensure they’re cost effectively meeting business needs.

 

 Kemira's Industry & Water segment enables our customers to improve their water treatment efficiency by providing value adding support and high performing chemicals.  This position will be located at our East Chicago, IN manufacturing site.

 

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

 

  • Developing processes to analyze, and review life-cycle ownership costs of our North Americas fleet assets.  Prepare financial analyses that supports the development and implementation of effective long-term and short-term strategic vehicle acquisition strategies and programs.
  • Establishing standard equipment specifications for tractors and trailers
  • Leading the vehicle acquisition and contracting process.  Overseeing and leading the Request for Proposals and quotations (RFX) process to ensure robust competition among potential suppliers and the negotiations of fleet asset and related agreements.  Ensuring sourcing activities are in alignment with Kemira sourcing procedures and requirements.
  • Establishing equipment compatibility standards and overseeing management of change as required for our cargo tank fleets.
  • Evaluating technology and value to cost analysis to determine various technology that will drive the more value and improvements for the fleet operations.
  • Effectively assimilating and leveraging technology and sustainability related funding opportunities available from various government agencies.
  • Maintaining business relationships with key vendors and service providers
  • Accessing, and overseeing all fleet asset and maintenance CAPEX
  • Managing manufacture warranties on applicable assets.
  • Communicating with the appropriate logistics terminal managers, maintenance personnel and vendors, regarding acquisition strategy details and activities to obtain approval and to effectively implement fleet asset strategies. Ensuring that processes and systems are in place to maintain master data management in various support systems.
  • Maintaining Kemira fleet maintenance programs, documentation and reviews
  • Overseeing annual test and inspection scheduling
  • Monitoring PM compliance schedule
  • Ensuring regulation specific documentation is completed and retain as required
  • Ensuring that assets are maintained as required by Kemira maintenance programs
  • Ensuring maintenance qualifications of vendors and contractors are met
  • Monitoring that internal shop maintenance systems are used and reviewing data and trends
  • Ensuring all maintenance tickets are closed in timely manner as required by DOT regulations
  • Providing training on new tools, techniques, and procedures and best practices

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

 

  • Minimum 10-years of experience in cargo tank maintenance
  • Strong understanding of equipment specifications, technology, suppliers and resources
  • Strong knowledge in DOT and TC equipment operation and maintenance regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience working with little supervision.
  • Experience with MS office applications including word, excel, power point and outlook.
