We are now looking for a Business Controller to join our New Ventures & Services unit.
New Ventures & Services unit drives innovation growth beyond our current core business offerings, focusing on adjacent markets, emerging technologies, and new service models. Our work spans from exploring and scouting to commercialization of new growth opportunities in areas such as adjacent technologies for water treatment (for example, new micropollutant treatment solutions), renewable solutions for the fiber economy, as well as opening new growth avenues for Kemira’s core technologies and expertise across emerging industries like textile fibers and the battery value chain. The unit also leads the portfolio, development and growth of digital solutions and services that creates added value for both existing as well new customers.
The Business Controller acts as a key business partner to the New Ventures and Services leadership team, driving growth, shaping investment decisions, and supporting the development of new business ventures. Beyond a traditional business controlling role, this role helps shape Kemira’s future growth portfolio, combining financial expertise with strategic thinking, commercial insight, and analytical capabilities to identify value creation opportunities, to guide decision-making and to ensure disciplined execution of innovation and growth initiatives.
The position can be based at one of Kemira’s key office locations in EMEA.
In this role you will:

Partner closely with the New Ventures & Services leadership team to shape growth strategy, including market entry, new business models, and portfolio decisions

Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, balancing grown ambitions with value creation and financial discipline

Provide fact-based financial and strategic insights that challenge assumptions and strengthen decision-making

Co-develop, track, and monitor NVS financial and non-financial KPIs for NVS and Kemira level review and reporting

Develop and maintain business cases, financial models, and scenario analysis to evaluate opportunities, risks, and alternative growth paths

Enable strategic decision-making through portfolio modelling, investment evaluations, and value creation tracking

Lead long-term financial planning, rolling forecasts, and investment analyses across a diverse portfolio of innovation and growth initiatives

Drive disciplined governance and execution of growth initiatives (funnel management)

Collaborate across business units, functions (including relevant Group Finance forums), and leadership forums, influencing decisions at the intersection of finance, strategy and innovation
What you’ll bring to the team:
-
A strong track record in corporate strategy, business development, management consulting, corporate finance, or related disciplines. Experience in business controlling or finance business partnering is beneficial, particularly when combined with strategic or growth-oriented responsibilities.

Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field

Strong financial and analytical capabilities, combined with the ability to translate complex information into actionable business insights and recommendations

Proven experience in investment analysis, business case development, and strategic planning

A growth-oriented entrepreneurial mindset, with curiosity and a passion for creating new business value
-
Experience in venture incubation and ecosystem partnerships experience is an advantage.

Negotiation skills and M&A experience are an asset.

Experience in innovation, new business development, or transformation environments is valued.

Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
