As part of our company-wide Data & AI development initiative, we are strengthening our Data, Analytics & AI (DAA) Center of Excellence (CoE) to achieve ambitious targets. Defining and governing the best methodologies to manage the lifecycle of analytics solutions is critical for transforming exciting designs from Proof of Concept (PoC) into scaled production.
We are now looking for a Data & AI Cloud Engineering Lead for our Information Technology function.
In this role, you will collaborate with technical domain experts within Kemira to deliver optimal outcomes for AI/ML and data-driven projects. Working closely with Solution Designers, Data Scientists and Engineers, you will help to ensure the cloud infrastructure for our team supports high-quality AI/ML, data and BI services and products, from Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to full-scale production. You will work closely with our Tenant-wide Infrastructure team but will have global responsibility for our Landing Zone.
We would prefer this role to be based in our Helsinki office, with remote work available for 3 days a week. While most of your colleagues are located at our headquarters in Helsinki, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders and peers from around the globe.
In this role you will be responsible for:

Leading the technical direction and management of the Data, Analytics, and AI cloud environment and landing zone implementations.

Implement, improve and maintain the scalable cloud platform to support data, AI/ML, BI, and other workloads

Ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and performance efficiency across cloud solutions managed by DAA.

Onboard and offboard projects and workloads efficiently and securely to the DAA cloud platform through automation and clear processes

Leading and guiding the DAA cloud engineering team, including recruitment and onboarding activities.

Supporting vendor selection and cloud service evaluations.

Defining, following and enforcing cloud security, compliance, and governance best practices.

Develop and drive best practices for automation, CI/CD and IaC

Collaborating with teams and stakeholders (Data, AI/ML, BI) to align cloud capabilities with business needs.
What you’ll bring to the team:
-
A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
-
Significant hands-on experience in cloud architecture, administration, and engineering (Azure preferred).

Demonstrated ability to design secure, scalable, and well-architected cloud platforms for data, AI/ML, and BI.

Proven experience with designing and maintaining infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and cloud automation at scale for Data and Analytics workloads.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Experience with data governance, compliance, and cost optimization in enterprise cloud environments.

Understanding of ETL/ELT and streaming data pipelines, ability to support in data engineering and integration tasks.

Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks/Snowflake and running data & AI/ML workloads in the cloud such as Apps, APIs or MCPs.

Strong communication skills in English.

Relevant certifications in Azure are desirable and will be required to be obtained/maintained during employment as agreed with the Cloud Governance policies at Kemira.

Practical experience and understanding in the following areas will help candidates: BI development, analytics engineering and reporting (e.g. Power BI), ML/AI practices like MLOps, different ML/AI models and their use cases.
