We are now looking for a Data Engineering Lead in Helsinki, Finland, to lead our DataOps process and platform development activities, as well as develop solutions on top of these platforms. You will be part of Digital Solutions’ Data and Analytics center of excellence. Role of the team is to create value for our customers and internal stakeholders by creation of advanced, intelligent, data-driven digital applications which play significant role in implementing the Kemira business strategy and sustainability targets. One of your main tasks is making sure we have cutting-edge scalable data pipeline and storage development- and operations processes and associated platforms and toolset. Creating, productization and operations of data solutions in cooperation with vendors and/or as a hands-on member of selected project teams is another major part of your daily work.
In this role you will:

Own DataOps process and map it onto the appropriate platforms, toolset and Continuous Integration and Development (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as a code (IaC) templates

Own and develop data platform- and architecture on a logical and technical level

Guide providers in data- engineering and -platform development work and ensure that work is conducted according to the set architectural principles, policies and guidelines

Perform data engineering work hands-on in selected areas
We expect you to have:
-
B.Sc. or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Statistics or equivalent
-
5+ years of experience with software development in a professional setting. Experience building cloud-native applications seen as an advantage.

3+ years of experience working with big-data solutions in production
-
Proficiency with programming in Python and SQL, preferably within a context of Databricks and Azure data and integration services

Knowledge of state of the art big-data engineering platforms and methods and ability to make well-justified technology choices

Experience building CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as-a-code using industry standard frameworks, platforms and tools seen as very strong advantage.

Ability to coordinate work in a multi-vendor environment
