We are now looking for a Sr Sales Manager, EMEA for our New Ventures & Services business Unit.
In this role, you will lead sales activities for the New Ventures business areas, markets, and applications at the regional level and manage a portfolio of key prospect opportunities directly, driving growth and establishing strong client relationships.
You can be based at our headquarters in Helsinki or at any of our local offices across the EMEA region.
In August 2024 Kemira announced changes to its operating model to better meet profitable growth ambitions. This open position will be part of the planned new organization which will be effective as of Jan 1, 2025.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing sales plans, activities, and campaigns aligned with New Ventures & Services growth targets. Leading commercialization efforts for New Ventures business areas - including Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, and Battery Chemicals - in the EMEA region.
- Leading the regional sales team to achieve designated sales objectives and managing a portion of prospect opportunities directly. Collaborating closely with Business Creation Managers (BCMs) to transition qualified sales leads from BCM responsibility to the sales team.
- Taking responsibility for the financial performance of New Ventures activities within the region.
- Preparing sales forecasts, budgets, and targets in coordination with BCMs who provide valuable market insights. Monitoring sales volume, revenue, and costs against forecasts to identify issues and reallocate resources as necessary.
- Actively negotiating with existing and potential customers, building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Providing market intelligence and customer insights to contribute to sales, customer retention, pricing, and distribution strategies.
- Defining customer needs for chemical and digital products by overseeing laboratory and technical trials at customer sites. This may involve handling hazardous chemicals and supporting installation or maintenance tasks.
- Supporting Global Business & Portfolio Management by providing regional insights that aid in strategy and business plan execution, with an emphasis on application-specific and customer-specific input.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- A proven track record of driving sales efforts in new business growth areas, with resilience in managing long-term commercial projects and achieving results.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading and motivating sales teams to achieve ambitious objectives and executing business plans effectively at a regional level.
- The ability to build relationships, set targets, and navigate new markets or unfamiliar customer bases, while fostering a growth-oriented mindset within the team.
- Business knowledge in one or more New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, or Battery Chemicals, along with the ability to analyze market trends, regulatory environments, industry value chains, and competitive landscapes to drive value-selling strategies.
- Established networks with customers and stakeholders, particularly within the New Ventures business areas.
- A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as Chemistry, Fiber Chemistry, Packaging Technology, , Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biochemistry.
- At least 5 to 10 years of industrial experience in fields such as papermaking, packaging technology, textile fibers, or renewable energy.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with emotional intelligence, strong persuasion, and negotiation abilities to influence and convince others effectively.
- A commitment to high ethical standards and adherence to compliance.
