We are now looking for a Senior Operations Controller to join our Finance team, partnering with Manufacturing Fiber Essentials and Manufacturing APAC teams. This role is based in Helsinki.

 

We are seeking for a highly motivated, dynamic and driven controller to parter with our Manufacturing organization. This role entails providing both challenge and support to the team in order to achieve operational efficiency and execute business plans. In collaboration with colleagues in Operations, Business Units, and Finance, both globally and regionally, you will contribute to fostering efficiency, growth, and compliance across our operations.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Provide thorough financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support fact-based decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities, provide decision support and offer actionable recommendations to stakeholders to drive efficient and profitable end-to-end operations, improve capital efficiency and enhance financial performance.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting within the designated area of responsibility, ensuring alignment with short- and long-term business objectives and plans.
  • Manage and execute management reporting, cost analysis, target follow-up and various ad hoc analyses.
  • Manage the capital investment process for assigned area, contribute to capital investment preparations including financial modelling, and ensure that capital investments are evaluated and progress is monitored.
  • Manage target setting for financial KPI’s.
  • Contribute to and support the execution and monitoring of efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Define and ensure standardized, efficient processes, harmonized reporting structures, clear cost accounting principles and accurate availability of financial information for stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and guidelines.
  • Guide the development of reporting and planning principles and tools.
  • Provide financial training and guidance. Facilitate and promote the use of available tools and provide training to stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • Proven controlling experience with a focus on Operations in the process industry. Strong grasp of manufacturing processes, cost accounting & product costing, asset accounting and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated achievements from executed actions that have led to measurable financial results. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to influence stakeholders at various levels in a cross-functional setting. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret large data sets, concluding with executive-level summaries and recommendations.
  • A strategic mindset with practical implementation and execution.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, effectively prioritizing multiple tasks and managing deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated excellence in SAP and its essential modules and business processes, along with proficiency in utilizing various reporting tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Thinkcell, BW/SAC.
  • A commitment to the continuous enhancement of processes and tools.
  • 5+ years relevant experience, likely in a business controller role and with a Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills.
