We are now looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager, Sustainability and Bio Raw Materials to join our Global Sourcing team. In this role, you are responsible of managing our ambitious program aiming at increasing the sustainability and renewability of our raw material portfolio on a global level.


This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to some of the most important strategic initiatives of Kemira. Sustainability transformation is in the heart of our ambition for the coming years. You will work in cross functional teams with representatives of Product Line Management, R&D, Corporate sustainability and EHSQ.


You will also work closely with direct materials sourcing colleagues in each region to coordinate the actions on our two strategic programs Bio-X and Sustainability. Bio-X program will require to study the new raw materials and supply markets, assess, and engage new suppliers, and support R&D & Product Line Management in the sustainability transformation of Kemira product portfolio. The Sustainability program will coordinate the activities required to reduce Kemira Green House Gas emissions Scope 3 and enhance the share of circular /by-product raw materials.


Main accountabilities

•    Develop and implement innovative approaches to sourcing that will enhance Kemira sustainability profile

•    Analyze and evaluate markets and supplier trends to ensure that sourcing is based on best practice ‘intelligence' and suppliers are selected based on sound criteria. Undertake supplier mapping and build sourcing fact base of key suppliers within the category portfolio, to help develop effective supplier relationships.

•    Work cross-functionally with other teams within Kemira

•    Develop and execute integrated, realistic, and detailed project plans to allow reaching ambitious targets.

•    Support Direct Material sourcing colleagues in supplier selection decision and contract negotiations for new suppliers arising from the Bio-X and Sustainability programs, give support in make-or-buy decisions. Provide expertise and commercial knowledge within biobased RM category of spend to produce high quality professional category scoping reports and/or commercial options appraisals.

•    Coordinate new supplier visits/audits using appropriate functional expertise

•    Perform special projects as assigned by SVP, Sourcing


What you need:

•    Master´s degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or other science related field or equivalent experience

•    Minimum 5 years’ management experience in chemical raw material Sourcing for multi-national global companies

•    Solid experience of leading commercial activities related to bio-based chemicals

•    Good understanding of sustainability concepts related to manufacturing industry, experience in CO2 footprint reduction and circular economy programs will be a plus

•    Strong process and project management experience

•    Proven ability to drive change throughout organization

•    Ability to get buy-in and commitment from internal/external stakeholders

•    Ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies

•    Strong negotiating and analytical skills


The position is permanent and the location is flexible, preferably in any of our office locations globally. In this position, you will report directly to SVP, Sourcing. The position requires flexibility for global mobility.
