Title:  Lab Technician

Kemira’s Industry & Water - Oil & Gas  provides a unique combination of innovative chemicals and application knowledge that improves process efficiency and yield in oil & gas.  We are now looking for an experienced Laboratory Services Technician to generate year over year revenue and gross margin growth through analytical support with selected customers as determined by the Sales Directors of Oil & Gas.

 

The responsibilities will include:

  • Properly applying rudimentary chemical principles and standard laboratory procedures to sample analysis.
  • Using written or oral instructions, accurately prepare samples and conduct routine chemical analyses daily as self-scheduled in collaboration with senior personnel.
  • Independently operating various standard analytical instruments and perform basic maintenance according to established methods.
  • Assisting senior personnel with troubleshooting, advanced maintenance and calibration on analytical instrumentation.
  • Individually recording, collecting and reviewing electronic experimental data and communicate results to appropriate parties.
  • Supporting and assisting chemists on improvement to analytical procedures using existing equipment.
  • Utilizing computer software and spreadsheets to monitor quality metrics and perform basic statistical calculations.
  • Supporting senior chemists on advanced projects and accurately record data in a laboratory notebook.
  • Working on two to three assignments simultaneously and complete them within agreed upon timeframes.
  •  Contributing to writing of work instructions, procedures, protocol, and analytical methods.
  • Working within and contribute enhancements to the processes and systems of the Analysis Lab.
  • Communicating daily operational details and issues affecting laboratory operations to colleagues and researchers.
  • Contributing to the daily operational tasks and organization of the laboratory and participate in corporate initiatives.
  •  Completing all assigned training within the agreed upon timeline.
  • Performing all work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner by following all EHS policies/procedures/programs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you need:

Bachelor’s degree in Science Field or minimum three years of experience in a laboratory environment
