REACTOR OPERATOR (Polymer Plant)

We are looking for an experienced Polymer Reactor Operator for our Marietta Plant within the Pulp & Paper segment.  This position has the primary responsibilities of manufacturing liquid polymers, including:

 Charging, feeding, monitoring and controlling reaction vessels according to written procedures during the manufacture of finished products

  • Operation of a Distributed Control System and all reactor support equipment
  • Handling of various chemicals used in the manufacturing of products
  • Material transport via forklift
  • Housekeeping and reporting of safety hazards
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned under proper supervision

 What you need: 

  • Prior experience in a chemical plant with hazardous materials transfer / handling experience.
  • Track record complying with Quality, HSE & Process Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to execute Emergency Response procedures applicable to position.
  • Preferred - use of computerized control system to operate chemical processes.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Respirator use, frequent motor vehicle operation and use of manual dexterity.
  • Moderate standing, walking, exposure to dusts, fumes or chemical irritants and exposure to respiratory irritants or sensitizers.
  • Sitting, squatting, bending, work around moving machinery, work on ladders, work in contained areas.
  • Must be able to work all shifts – expect to work night shift following training period.
  • Must Frequently Lift   55.1 Pounds
