We are seeking a driven Application Specialist for our Pulp & Paper segment in South America.

What you’ll bring to the team, Main Accountabilities:
- Provide technical knowledge and expertise to field sales to enable winning technical advice to our valued customers
- Drive the development of new applications in region, as like: Deposit Control in general for Pulp and Paper mills.
- Executes customers’ technical needs and develop proposals outlining how the organization’s products and services can meet these needs and be integrated and implemented with the customer's existing systems and equipment.
- Coordinate and execute commercialization to ensure successful launches and rollout.
- Liaise with R&D in projects to ensure that products and services are developed, modified, configured, and implemented according to customer need.
- Estimate the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the organization’s products and services to meet customer needs.
- Develop and deliver training to educate customers and internal stakeholders on the features of the products or services.
- Respond to more complex customer questions and troubleshoot, investigate, run case studies and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation.
Education
- Pulp and Paper Science or other related technical degree; Masters, MBA or PhD desired
- Bachelor degree: Chemistry or Chemical Engineer
- Advanced English
- Intermediate Spanish
- Superior computer skills – all Microsoft applications; specialized technical software (statistical/system design, other); SAP
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in Application, Sales, Marketing, Research & Development and/or technical service related to the Pulp and Paper industry
- Good interpersonal relationship and teamwork;
- Works independently to complete tasks and activities.
- Establishes contacts with internal and external stakeholders
- Solid working knowledge in the most important applications in Process Chemicals, like: deposit control for Pulp Mills, Deposit control for Paper and Board machines including MiBi knowlogde, wet end troubleshooting, Brown stock wash defoamers as well as digital tools and solutions is a plus.
- Broad, technical knowledge of P&P end product uses and the role of chemistries and IM (information management) to attain end property characteristics in Board, Pulp, Tissue and Specialty Paper grades, process efficienies and improvements.
- Ability to travel up to 50% by car and/or air
