We are now looking for Application, New Ventures, China for our New Ventures & Services business unit in China
The purpose of this role is to lead the applications activities for New Ventures business areas, markets and applications on regional level and manage personally a portion of the prospect applications needs directly.
In August 2024 Kemira announced changes to its operating model to better meet profitable growth ambitions. This open position will be part of the planned new organization which will be effective as of Jan 1, 2025.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- In accordance with the NVS growth targets and priority sales prospects, develop and implement applications support planning, activities, and campaigns for New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens in China.
- Manage the technical side of application proposals to ensure that they are technically accurate, consistent with the quality and price standards, and aligned with product and service strategies. Advise and participate on marketing objectives including conference attendance and materials preparation.
- Liaise with R&D in projects to ensure that products and services are modified, configured, and implemented according to customer needs.
- Assure team develops best practices applications guides related to the New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens in China
- Ensure that team helps to establish value proposition with sales and BCM.
- Lead trials on customer sites or Kemira internal development locations, based on priority set by BCM and Lead results presentations with customers following trials include data analysis and conclustions.
- Ensure trainings on new technology are created and provided to relevant NVS Sales and BCM teams for NVS technologies in the APAC region.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in Chemistry, Paper Chemistry, Packaging Technology, Water treatment technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry… or other relevant technical field
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant coating industrial experience
- Proven track record of leading technical and/or applications development in new business growth areas, resilience required for driving long-term commercial projects.
- Comfortable with developing relationships, best practices and competencies in unfamiliar customer base or new markets. Lead others with similar mindset and abilities.
- Deep technical knowledge in one or multiple New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, Battery chemicals. Demonstrated ability to develop procedures, technical business cases, value propositions in a highly competitive environment, focus in customer value creation and value-selling.
- Established networks with customers and other stakeholders in current job scope, preferably in one or multiple New Ventures business areas: Barriers, Textile Fibers, Nonwovens, Battery chemicals
- Strong tactical leadership abilities and sharp commercial mindset combined with ability to execute business plans at regional level
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, emotional intelligence and an ability to work across organizational boundaries combined with persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to impact, influence and convince others.
- Strong and efficient technical writing skills. Able to design data collection plans, analyze data and draw relevant and accurate conclusions AND able to lead others in similar practices. Able to work with team on identifying gaps and then implement plans to improve team skills sets.
