We are now looking for an experienced Manager, Internal Audit and Ethics & Compliance . This position has dual responsibility for on other hand ensure adequate knowledge and to audit and assess compliance. In this role you will report to Chief Auditor and dotted line to Ethics & Compliance Director.


The focus of the Internal Audit team is assessments and audits of the company policies, processes and related internal controls as well as local laws, and the aim is to develop value-added recommendations and process improvements and ensure those are effectively shared and communicated to respective stakeholders.


Ethics and Compliance play a vital role in Kemira by safeguarding the company's reputation, minimizing legal and financial risks, and fostering a culture of ethical behavior among employees and partners.


The main location for the position is in Shanghai China. The job will require some level of travel inside China and internationally, mainly in APAC.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring adequate knowledge and adherence to internal policies across departments as well as to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with various teams and provide training and guidance on compliance related questions.
  • Lead and execute audit engagements in APAC including China in close cooperation with process owners and management.
  • Consult and support control owners and performers to further develop Kemira internal control environment and framework
  • Conduct risk assessments as requested.
  • Conduct or participate in internal investigations
  • Promote and advance Ethics & Compliance actions in APAC
  • As separately agreed, take a consulting role in business improvement projects and/or run internal policy/ audit development programs.
  • Support Ethics & Compliance, organizing and offering face-to-face and online trainings, preparing presentations, engagement materials.
  • Follow up of compliance KPIs
  • Control completion of all Legal trainings in the region


What you’ll bring to the team:

  • M. Sc. or relevant university degree in for example accounting,
  • 5+ years of international work experience in auditing, consulting, compliance, data analytics or corporate business development functions e.g. in supply chain management, sourcing or sales
  • Fundamental understanding of local laws and regulations and strong knowledge of Chinese ways of working and Chinese culture
  • Good understanding of audit assignments and internal controls principles
  • Ability to work with functions, streams, and sectors to understand their needs, and to assist with their compliance requirements while helping to drive efficiency through process improvements
  • Open, transparent, and collaborative working style with strong communications and influencing skills
  • Strong credibility at both senior management and peer level
  • Strong English and Chinese business writing and presentation skills
  • Compliance and/ or Internal audit certifications would be desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills to work as integral part of an international team while working in a remote location from the main team.
