Research Scientist, Chemistry Team, Shanghai R&D

We are now looking for an experienced Research Scientist to join Chemistry Team at our Shanghai R&D Center. You will work for new product development and technical customer service. You will together with global R&D and local sales and application teams provide best product to support business needs.

Kemira R&D and Technology is a critical enabler within Kemira, securing organic growth and further differentiation in the market through co-creation and innovation with our customers.

Main responsibilities are:

• Fiber extraction and modification for new functionality development such as lyocell, molded, textile, non-woven fiber research decadicated for carbon neturial
• Bio-based materials development (cellulose, semi-cellulose, nanocelllose, lignin, ligocellulose, etc.) to support Kemira new growth
• Biocomposite material development for advanced application focusing on natural fiber and biopolymer reinforcing together
• Contribute to business and R&D strategy development in bio-mass area and propose new projects to R&D for business development
• Take charge of maintenance of assigned lab instruments
• Complete other assigned work timely

What you will bring to the team:

• PhD or Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years’ work experience.
• Solid natural fiber research compotency for modification and application
• Fundamental understanding and application of bio-based materials
• Time driven fashion with minimal supervision
• Take initiative to address issues and proactively find solutions
• Active, innovative, and good teamwork
• Fluent in reading, listening, writing, and speaking English
