We are seeking an experienced and motivated EHSQ Supervisor to join our Packaging and Hygiene Solutions team in St. Catharines. This key leadership role is responsible for driving environmental, health, safety, and quality excellence across the site while ensuring full regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of our EHSQ programs.

This role is based at our St. Catharines plant and plays a critical role in supporting safe operations, employee engagement, ISO program management, and environmentally responsible manufacturing.

 

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemistry with chemical plant experience will also be considered
  • Minimum 3–5 years of EHSQ experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing life-critical systems (LOTO, confined space, working at heights, hot work, etc.), including procedure development
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Ministry of the Environment (MECP) regulations related to air, stormwater, and sewage ECAs
  • Solid understanding of Process Safety Management, including HAZOPs, PHAs, MOCs, and process safety controls in a chemical plant
  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems, including ISO audits
  • Knowledge of quality systems and basic laboratory testing in a chemical plant
  • Experience leading and managing capital projects aimed at continuous improvement and EH&S enhancement

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the technical EHSQ resource for plant leadership
  • Lead and participate in safety, environmental, and quality incident investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Ensure regulatory and ISO compliance through procedure development, audits, and document control
  • Maintain and improve life-critical safety programs (LOTOTO, confined space, working at heights, hot work, etc.)
  • Deliver and coordinate plant-wide safety training programs
  • Manage the internal safety system (Synergi) including hazardous conditions, behaviour-based safety findings, and continuous improvement actions
  • Participate in and lead HAZOPs, Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews, and MOCs as part of the process Safety Management System
  • Lead site ISO certification and management systems
  • Oversee plant quality systems and laboratory operations
  • Ensure compliance with MECP environmental regulations and ECAs
  • Lead and implement EHSQ-driven capital projects and site improvements
  • Communicate performance and initiatives to plant and corporate teams using PowerPoint presentations and formal reports
