We are now looking for a Commercial Director to join the Packaging & Hygiene Solutions Business Unit in the EMEA West region.

 

The Packaging and Hygiene Solutions business unit focuses on, among others, the growing renewable solutions market, particularly packaging and tissue, where Kemira’s renewable product offering supports customers on their sustainability journey. This position is dedicated for the region covering selected Western European countries.

 

This role is a strategic leadership position within the regional commercial team including the prioritization and alignment of resources for the execution of regional sales and service operations within chosen strategies in the region. The position promotes and commercializes Kemira’s expertise in application of paperboard making chemistries, paperboard making systems and processes and ensures the offered technology portfolio provides customer satisfaction and aligns fully with regional business goals and objectives.

 

This position has a flexible location within Western Europe, provided it is based in a country where Kemira currently operates (such as Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and the UK), preferably located close to a Kemira production site or commercial office. Remote location can be considered with flexibility and willingnes to travel within the EMEA West region. The role will report to Head of Commercial, Packaging & Hygiene Solutions, EMEA. 

 

 In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading and developing sales team(s) to achieve designated sales objectives.
  • Developing sales and implementing sales plans, activities, and campaigns and leading the operational activities for an assigned geography, market segment, or particular customers.
  • Defining customer needs for Kemira chemicals, digital solutions and services with sustainability focus.
  • Preparing sales forecasts, budgets and targets. Monitoring sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas and adapt procedures or re-allocate resources.
  • Negotiating sales with existing and potential customers and actively liaising with customers.
  • Contributing to the development of sales, customer retention, pricing, and distribution strategies for area of responsibility through provision of market intelligence and customer information.
  • Occupational safety in Commercial operations where everyone contributes to better safety.

 

What you’ll bring to the team: 

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Technology, Chemistry, Economics or similar
  • Demonstrable experience in leading diverse and multinational teams
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills
  • Strong ability to inspire and coach others
  • Ideally knowledge and experience of the Pulp & Paper business
  • Fluent English skills, any additional language from the region is beneficial
  • Willingness for frequent business travel
