We are seeking a driven Sr. Applications Specialist for our Pulp & Paper segment.

In Pulp & Paper, our application expertise, latest technologies for data-driven process management, digital services and a complete chemistry portfolio help our customers enhance their sustainability, process efficiency, productivity and end-product quality.

In this role, you will work with customers in South America and will have the flexibility to organize your work between office and remote, in a hybrid work culture.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Solid knowledge in the most important applications in Pulp Process Chemicals, like: Deposit Control for Pulp Mills, Brow stock wash defoamers, technical expertise in Paper and Board machines is a plus;
Provides advanced product and application expertise and technical knowledge to field sales to enable winning technical advice to our valued customers;
Support sales team to expand sales, introducing new products and applications to our existing and potential customers;
Coordinate and execute commercialization to ensure successful launches and rollout;
Liaise with R&D in projects to ensure that products and services are developed, modified, configured, and implemented according to customer and Market needs;
Develop and deliver training to educate customers and internal stakeholders on the features of the products or services;
Respond to more complex customer questions and troubleshoot, investigate, run case studies and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation of our chemical programs.

What requirements are needed:

Bachelor degree: Chemistry or Chemical Engineer
Advanced English and Intermediate Spanish
Pulp and Paper Science or other related technical degree
Masters, MBA or PhD desired
Superior computer skills – all Microsoft applications and specialized statistical software
Good interpersonal relationship and teamwork
Experience in Applications, Sales, Marketing, Research & Development and/or technical service related to the Pulp and Paper industry
Works independently to complete tasks and activities
Broad, technical knowledge of P&P end product uses and the role of chemistries and IM (information management) to attain end property characteristics in Board, Pulp, Tissue and Specialty Paper grades, process efficiencies and improvements. Ability to travel up to ~60% by car and/or air
