Kemira Pulp & Paper offers unique expertise in applying chemicals and supporting pulp and paper producers to innovate and continuously improve their operational efficiency and end-product quality.

 

We are now looking for an experienced EHSQ Manager for manufacturing sites in Yanzhou, Shandong Province. You will work in Yanzhou to provide a focused and informed advice on all EHSQ related matters for the Yanzhou operation. To ensure that all EHS relevant processes are in place, maintained, and in full compliance with all local, national, global, and internal regulation.

 

Main responsibilities are:

  • Develop and manage a high performance EHSQ team for our sites in Yanzhou.
  • Implement Kemira’s EHSQ policy and strategy for the sites needs and manage the EHS system by which those needs are fulfilled so that the continual improvement of the operation can be achieved.
  • Ensure that all standards and procedures are established, implemented and maintained according to the Kemira Policy and relevant government regulations.
  • Administering and maintaining the policies/procedures/records and minutes as per company, legal and ISO standards requirements.
  • Ensure that all internal and external EHS related reporting is done adequately, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow up with all levels of the organization to develop and implement the corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate the risks.
  • Drive to improve the performance of EHS. Lead EHS internal audits and assess EHS performance and results. Contribute to external EHS audits and make improvement action plans.
  • Supervise special equipment installation, operation, maintenance, work permit. Personal protective equipment in line with EHS policy
  • Take part in manufacturing process safety review to ensure compliance with EHS policy & regulation
  • Develop and implement EHSQ programs on continued basis for EHSQ improvement
  • Cooperate with HR on EHS training to all staff and to develop organizational EHS awareness
  • To make recommendation to continuously improve the safety performance inside the company
  •  Develop and maintain the Fire Protection, Emergency Planning & Response and Security programs for the site and new projects, and provides guidance to site personnel
  • Ensure a timely application and renewal of all site relevant permits, licenses and certificates also for new projects
  • Provide guidance and training to Company Emergency Response Team and organize exercises, evacuation exercises and emergency response drills for the site and new projects
  • Provide supervision and guidance to contracted security guards and daily security operations
  • Key role in developing, maintaining and improving the Integrated Management Systems conforming with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS45001 specifications
  • Modify attitudes, knowledge and skill behavior to achieve effective performance in the EHS activities.
  • Devise, audit, monitor, evaluate, record and report the progress of the EHS improvement plans
  • Coordinate site EHS activities in line with Regional and Global EHS requirements.
  • Foster EHS relationships, to ensure that Kemira Yanzhou operates, communicates, learns from and liaises with other similar local companies in the area or within Kemira globally.
  • To devise and promote site EHS KPI’s  in line with Global targets.

What you need:

  • Bachelor degree or higher with major in Chemical or Process Engineering or Chemistry. National Certified Safety Engineer is preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant working experience in a chemical production environment as for example EHS, production management.
  • Within the 10 year working experience at least 5 years of proven experience in EHS management.
  • Good knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and motivational skills
