We are now looking for an Assistant General Counsel, EMEA to join our Business Legal Department.
Kemira Business Legal function provides expert legal support to Kemira’s business units and functions globally. The team ensures effective contract management, supports transactions and commercial activities, and safeguards compliance with laws and regulations in daily business operations.
This position will report to the VP Business Legal and is located in our Helsinki, Finland office. The position is eligible for hybrid work.
In this role you will be responsible for:

Serving as a senior legal advisor to the EMEA organisations on a wide range of legal, contractual and litigation matters

Leading and managing complex commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating customer, distribution, and vendor agreements

Managing disputes and litigation strategy in coordination with external counsel

Partnering with business and function teams to provide proactive, business-focused, solution-oriented, sound legal advice

Supporting growth initiatives, including aspects related to potential M&A activities

Contributing to special projects and other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the team:
-
Qualified lawyer in at least one EMEA jurisdiction, Finland preferred
-
Approximately 10–12 years of relevant in-house experience in a multinational organization
-
Strong hands-on expertise in commercial and litigation, with exposure to corporate and ideally competition law across EMEA
-
Experience in chemicals or other manufacturing industries is desirable
-
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and build trust at senior levels

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
-
Fluent in Finnish and English; additional European languages are a plus

Ability to work well independently without direction and identify opportunities to create and improve processes.

If the position would be based in Helsinki, Finland,, the starting base salary range for this role is between EUR 100 000 to EUR 130 000 per year. Salary ranges may vary depending on location and local market conditions. The actual starting salary will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skills and competencies, qualifications, and wider business and organizational needs.
